Elaine Barnett has been a professional sculptor since 1995. Her work has been in exhibitions as diverse as Gloucester Cathedral and The Chelsea Flower Show and is in many private collections in the UK and abroad. Many influences shape the work I create; from ancient cultures, mythology, folklore and, most importantly, our own life stories. The human figure is the principal subject of my work, which embodies the stages in our personal, transitory journey and the metamorphosis we undergo, physically, emotionally and spiritually - the cycle of life. ‘He said, my friend, we’re all afraid beneath these masks of skin’ - Oscar Wilde
